Information for International Students
The Dartmouth engineering community welcomes and supports a high level of geographic and cultural diversity within its students, faculty, and staff. As a result, our alumni/ae represent almost all 50 States as well as over 45 other nations to-date.
It is the long-standing policy of Thayer School to actively support equality of opportunity for all persons regardless of race or ethnic background, and no student shall be denied admission or be otherwise discriminated against because of age, handicap, race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin.
Candidates for admissions to advanced degrees should be able to read, write, and speak English with sufficient fluency so that they suffer no impediment in course work and thesis research. For the graduate degree, a student must be able to write a thesis in substantially correct English.
Candidates whose native language is not English must submit results for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, NJ 08541 (USA).
