Today’s electronic devices use radios to share data and take advantage of the massive informational resources of the Internet. New frameworks are needed that will enable simultaneous, uninterrupted usage of wireless devices with guaranteed quality of service in an increasingly crowded radio spectrum. LGS Innovations’ Spectrum Operations group is tasked with addressing this challenge. The systems we build require advanced radio sensing technologies, intricate software systems, massive computational resources, and sophisticated, adaptive machine learning algorithms that can make sense of dynamically changing radio environments. We will present an overview of this complex and challenging sensing problem and discuss some of the ways LGS Innovations is working to solve it.
